Asher Johnston's No.18 After a few weeks of waiting, we can finally say we are the 2009 State title holders!

The race meeting itself seems like it was ages ago after the fiasco that followed, but we had a great weekends racing. Our main competition came from Andy Nethercotte who made the trip across the border from Victoria with a group of others. It was great to have those guys come over to our meetings, and hopefully next year we can do the same and make it over to them. Nethercotte made me fight all the way in race 2 and 3, and it was probably the most fun I’ve had in a race car since 2006.

A mistake on the last lap allowed me to slip past and take the round, making it a clean sweep for us, and our 12th win of the championship.

As always I need to thank Dad, Leon, Kev, and Tommo for making everything run smoothly for me. The boys at Cartek for a great engine all year, Duplex IT, Drive to Live, Bridge Crash, Race Torque Media and West Torrens Dyno so fitting us in at the last minute!

I’ve also started a new association with the people at Pet Rescue who help in the re-homing of animals Australia wide. They helped me with adopting my new best friend, Angus, and hopefully what I do can, in some small way, promote the fantastic work they carry out.

Thankyou to everyone who has played a part in getting us to the Championship this year!
